CHANDIGARH, Nov 14: The city residents would form a human chain on November 17 to create awareness about the 3-day national programme of Pulse Polio, starting from November 21.

According to a release issued by the Administration, the human chain would pass through various sectors and villages of the city. The Administration has urged the residents from all walks of life to participate to spread the message of polio eradication.

The second phase of polio would commence on November 21 and will continue up to November 23. During this phase, children below the age of 5 years will be administered polio drops at 345 centres set up in various parts of the city including colonies, slums and villages. Besides, 10 mobile teams will be constitute to make the programme a success.

Special teams will also be set up at the Inter-State Bus Terminus and Railway Station to give polio vaccine to the children.

The chaind will be formed in association with various schools, Rotary Inner Wheel and Rotract Clubs of Chandigarh.
