Mike Huckabee is looking pretty tough these days in the race to the Republican nomination, which is why Chuck Norris looks so right by his side on this campaign trip last weekend. Team Chuckabee, the preacher and the black belt: gearing up for three full days of G-rated campaign-ridin8217; action.
At a veterans home, Norris hands an autographed card of himself to a 17-year-old kid. 8220;No way! So cool!8221; the kid cries out, clutching his tiny picture of Chuck.
8220;Everyone says the young people don8217;t vote, and I say, 8216;Well, they8217;re going to vote this time!8217; 8220; Norris says. 8220;That8217;s an order!8221; a grinning Huckabee says from behind Norris8217; shoulder.
Huckabee is a former Arkansas Governor and onetime Baptist preacher who wears alligator cowboy boots and whose dramatic rise in the polls has confounded many political types. Norris is known primarily for roundhouse-kicking bad guys on TV and in the movies.
Team Chuckabee is tough, but not too tough for manly regard. At the veterans home, they praise each other.
8220;He is a man who says what he means and means what he says,8221; Chuck says of Huck.
8220;We want a military that8217;s as tough as the idea of going up against Chuck Norris in an alley,8221; Huck says of Chuck.
