How seriously do you take your fitness?
Working out is my passion. I come from a family where everyone is particular about fitness, including my grandfather. Also, in my profession, I cannot afford to be lax about fitness. But most importantly, working out is a lot of fun.
Apart from hitting the gym, is there any other kind of exercise that you do?
My metabolic rate is very high. So if I run or jog, I lose weight rapidly. Even at the gym, I cannot get on to the treadmill or do anything that strenuous. What works well for me are heavyweight training and a bit of abs.
What is your gym schedule?
If in town, I like to hit the gym everyday. Before doing weights, I do a warm-up session for about 10-15 minutes. I make sure that I spend around two hours at the gym daily.
Do you control your diet?
It depends. If I want to gain weight, I have protein supplements. During the period when I have to maintain my weight, I stick to three meals a day, which constitute dal, rotiand sabzi. I am not very fond of bread but I cannot resist rice. I am okay with fast food and experimenting with other cuisines; but at the end of the day, a good meal is about home-cooked food. When eating out, what are your favourites? Mughlai food is my weakness. I love biryaniand kebabsand Delhi is my favourite place for that.
Is there anyone whose physique you really admire?
Sylvester Stallone. His look in the Rockyseries is the ultimate as far as the male physique is concerned. It’s a chiseled and trim look, with little fat. I would love to look like that.
