Name the most important meal of your day.
My protein-packed lunch. I eat lots of chicken, palak, dal and stir-fried veggies. I eat only fruits for breakfast.

Which diets have worked for you?
A high protein, low carb diet is best for me. Not Atkins, it’s too rigorous. I avoid carbs and dairy products and eat plenty of protein. Diet plans that involve several small meals have backfired.

Have you ever had any binges?
Loads of them. Most recently, I let myself eat whatever I wanted for a day. I had aloo parathas for breakfast, biryani and south Indian delicacies for lunch. I ate dinner at home and then had another one at a friend’s place. I finished it off with a blueberry cheesecake and chocolate mousse.

Any food addictions?
Yes, every morning, I have to have some papaya, otherwise my day isn’t right. I’ve given up tea and coffee, so that’s probably a compensation.

You’ve just completed an ad campaign for Reebok. How did you get into shape for it?
I had never worked out with a professional before. I asked for a month and a half to get into shape because I was a little heavy. Bebo (Kareena Kapoor) had been trying to convince me to start exercising. I went along with her for a session and loved it, so I took it up.

Cardio or weights?
Both. I alternate between them through the week. I have two personal trainers—one for cardio, one for weights. I exercise at their personal gyms.

What are your biggest problem areas?
My abs and lower body. I’m naturally bottom heavy, so I have to work on these areas. But this new regime’s done wonders. I love the way my body’s responding.
