Hotel worker stabbed to death

SHIMLA, Nov 15: Raj Kishore, a cook at Gulmarg Hotel, near ARTRAC Complex, was allegedly stabbed to death and his companion, Rajinder, sustained serious injuries when the two were assaulted by unknown persons last night near the Deputy Commissioner8217;s office here.

Both Raj Kishore and Rajinder were returning from a party, which was arranged by the proprietor of the hotel at a banquet hall on the Ridge.According to SSP, Shimla, A. N. Sharma, the deceased and other staff members had consumed liquor in the said party. Raj Kishore and Rajinder were found lying on the stairs between the Mall Road parking and ARTRAC by some staff members of the hotel. A case under Section 302 IPC has been registered.

and three investigation teams under the supervision of additional superintendent police have been constituted. The police have rounded up some hotel staffers who were being subjected to interrogation.

The state unit of the CITU and Himachal Hotel Mazdoor Lal Jhanda Union have expressed concern over the increasing lawlessness in the town. The hotel workers owing allegiance to CITU and the union went on lightening strike to protest against the deteriorating law and order situation. They demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
