CHANDIGARH, June 3: The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) today strongly condemned the alleged arrest of hundreds of party workers by the Haryana Police in Adampur constituency to prevent them from performing their duty in the by-election.In a press statement here, HPCC president Bhupinder Singh Hooda, MP, described the action as undemocratic. “It amounts to throttling the voice of the masses and preventing them from exercising their fundamental rights," he added.

“It only reflected the frustration of the ruling HVP-BJP alliance,” he said.Demanding immediate withdrawal of alleged false cases against the party workers and their release, the Congress leader urged the Governor to immediately dismiss the Bansi Lal government for its anti-democratic and anti-people acts during the by-election in the state.
