The partial 8216;blackout8217; that the NeoSports television feed suffered in Sourav Ganguly8217;s hometown has left many an aficionado frustrated, not being able to watch his comeback 98 in the first one-dayer. In general CAS-affected areas, with many set-top boxes still missing, the Prasar Bharati-Neo tussle has created a lot of bad blood.

Some cricketing veterans of the state were able to catch up, though, running to friends8217; homes. There was a bigger number that couldn8217;t.

Pranab Roy former Bengal captain, former national selector: It8217;s a disgrace that so many cricket fans in the country couldn8217;t watch the action due to a dispute between TV channels. I missed much of the action, although I managed to catch up with glimpses of Sourav8217;s knock. But that8217;s not enough to make a judgment, and I hope the Board does something about it so that fans are not deprived of the action.

Sambaran Banerjee Was national selector when Sourav made his Test debut in 1996: The blackout was quite a pain for cricket fans in Sourav8217;s hometown. I personally had to shuttle between two-three places to catch up with the action on TV.

Luckily, I managed to keep abreast of the action, but had to really move around town literally. Others weren8217;t so lucky. I am thankful I got to see Sourav8217;s full innings.
