Alliance Francaise recaptures some of the magnificent moments that made Europe
A dream, a vision, an idea and there was Europe. From the end of the Second World War, Franco-German reconciliation, the Hague European Congress and Eurovision to the post-war euphoria, creation of the Common Market whereby Europe became the Europe of six, to the great Europe Bridge, interminable negotiations with Great Britain which gave way to the Europe of nine, from democracy and artistic liberty, Beatles and Stones, Picasso and Dali, to the grand entries of Greece, Spain and Portugal making Europe of 10 then 12, from artistic expression of realism and violence, the fall of the Berlin wall to the democratisation of East European countries to the Europe of today, it surely is a world of change. And presenting it in a documentary is Hughes Nancy, narrating the whole story in an impressionistic way. On the occasion of World Day for Audiovisual Heritage, the Alliance Franccedil;aise and L8217;Institut National de l8217;Audiovisuel in association with The Indian Express are showcasing these movies from October 24 to 27, from 3:30 pm to and 5:30 pm.
