Highway lit by solar lights

Deputy Commissioner SP Sarow today inaugurated traffic lights at the busy junctions of Arya Chowk and Polytechnic Chowk on the Ambala-Hisar highway.

Deputy Commissioner SP Sarow today inaugurated traffic lights at the busy junctions of Arya Chowk and Polytechnic Chowk on the Ambala-Hisar highway. The solar traffic lights have been installed by the Municipal Corporation at a cost of over Rs 9 lakh.

Many accidents have been reported at these junctions. There are educational institutes on these roads, and schoolchildren are often the victims of these accidents.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner regretted that school and college students violate traffic rules.

He said that there was need to create awareness about traffic rules in the city. The DC pointed out that that a special drive would be launched to identify persons who drive without licence and documents.

He said all vulnerable points would be provided with traffic lights. MC President Harish Sasan, Executive Officer Kehar Singh Kadian and Improvement Trust chairman Karnail Bai were also present on the occasion.
