
Bangalore, Aug 24: The Karnataka High Court today stayed its August 9 order directing the designated CBI court to frame charges against the former Chief Minister S Bangarappa in a case filed against him for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Bangarappa had filed a criminal appeal in the court, praying for a stay on framing of charges.
Justice B K Sangalada, after issuing the stay, called for relevant documents and adjourned the matter for two weeks.
The court had earlier directed a CBI probe into Bangarappa8217;s assets, after a retired police official had filed a public interest writ petition seeking such a probe against him for allegedly acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The case was under trial in a designated CBI court here.
