CHANDIGARH, Feb 9: The Punjab and Haryana High Court today rejected the bail application of one Hari Ram, an accused booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Pronouncing the orders in the court, Justice K.S. Kumaran observed: quot;I am of the view that the petitioner can not be granted bail. I make it clear that whatever observation has been made herein, should not be taken as final expression of any opinion on the merits of this case.quot;
Hari Ram was earlier booked by the Punjab police after receiving secret information that the petitioner was waiting for a customer with poppy husk near the brick kiln in Kamalu village.
The prosecution had stated that the accused had fled from the scene upon seeing a police party, leaving behind a bag containing 32 kilograms.
