
CHANDIGARH, July 23: As many as 109 person, including 9 women, of the Haryana Sarv Karamchari Sangh courted arrest here today to protest the Haryana Government8217;s failure in meeting their long-pending demands.
The spokesman of the Sangh, Balbir Singh today said that the stir would be intensified at the district level from today. As part of the district-wise protests, a large number of employees today courted arrest in Hisar. The employees raised slogans against the state government while courting arrest.
Addressing the gathering, the Sangh president Sher Singh said that the state Chief Minister Bansi Lal had failed to keep the promises made with the employees during the Lok Sabha election campaign. Speakers also criticised the Bansi Lal Government for arresting nurses while they were holding a peaceful protest.
Demanding immediate release of the arrested nurses, they resolved that their struggle would continue till their demands were accepted. Among others, who addressed the rally included Hisar district president and general secretary, Bed Singh Munde and Jagdish Chander.
Haryana Bijli Karamchari leader Jagdish Shharam also spoke on the occasion.
