PUNE, May 13: Alleging harassment from a senior officer, a disgruntled police sub-inspector of the Deccan police station on Wednesday afternoon put in his badge and shot off a telegram to State Director General of Police Arvind Inamdar, threatening to commit suicide.
8220;Assistant commissioner of police Dnyaneshwar Chavan had hauled up PSI Ashok Jadhav because he felt the latter had not followed standard police procedure in a particular case. The PSI left the police station and shot off a telegram to the DGP,8221; said additional police commissioner M S Maheshgauri.
He claimed that the PSI, already mentally disturbed over some personal family matters, was so upset over the whole episode that he decided to turn in his papers. But PI Ram Kondhalkar of Deccan police station was sent to the PSI8217;s residence to pacify him.
It is learnt that the PSI8217;s family had approached the police commissioner over the entire episode. Jadhav, who claims to have worked under DGP Inamdar when they were in the State CID department, sent a telegram to him but has now been 8220;pacified.8221;
8220;But there can be no compromise on discipline and we will try to solve the matter. The PSI has apologised and further action as deemed fit will be taken,8221; Maheshgauri said.
