In a twist to Greg Chappell8217;s resignation as India8217;s coach, his brother Ian Chappell today suggested that Bob Woolmer8217;s murder may have influenced the decision. Ian wrote in Mumbai8217;s Mid-Day that if there was any chance of his brother continuing his tenure, it probably disappeared when Woolmer was murdered during the World Cup.

8220;Such an ugly incident is sure to focus your concentration on life8217;s priorities. As much as it would seem that Greg is probably better off without all the angst that comes with one of the most demanding jobs in cricket, I doubt he will feel completely fulfilled,8221; Ian said.

Ian also said that Greg had not questioned Sachin8217;s attitude, but had challenged him to resurrect his batting. 8220;Improvement doesn8217;t come without constantly challenging yourself and also responding to the demands of your team-mates, something that happened regularly in the Australian team,8221; Ian wrote.
