It is expected that Gopal would carry with him documents that show the action taken so far by the TN and Karnataka governments in response to the demands of Veerappan and his Tamil extremist associates.
The Tamil Nadu police today moved an application in a designated court here to drop charges under TADA in two cases against Venkatesan, one of the five extremists whose release has been sought by Veerappan.
When the prosecutor moved the application under Sec.321 Cr.PC, the court wanted to know the fate of other IPC charges. Following this, hearing was put off to noon to enable prosecution to give necessary clarifications.
The detention of four others 8211; Sathyamurthy, Muthukumar, Manikandan and Ponnivalavan 8211; under the National Security Act has already been revoked, paving the way for their being given bail in cases they face in various courts.
