
CHANDIGARH, March 28: The principals of DAV institutions in Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh gathered at the Sector 10 DAV College here today to honour Padmashree awardee Gian Prakash Chopra. Chopra, who served as the principal of Hansraj College for 15 years, is presently the chairman of the governing body of 13 DAV colleges and vice-president of the DAV College Management Committee.
Addressing the gathering, Chopra urged curriculum reforms to emphasise science and technology in the areas of information, management and computer education, but without losing sight of the primary aim of education, namely inculcation of moral values. Chopra was awarded the Padmashree recently for his contribution to literature and education.
