NEW DELHI, October 7: Deep Memorial Public School, Ramprastha Ghaziabad dominated the second All India inter-school shooting championships which were conducted by the National Rifle Association of India at Bishop Cotton School, Shimla last week.

Deep Memorial School finished the four-day event with a total of five gold, three silver and six bronze medals. The school also earned Rs 4,000 as cash prize for the performance of its students in the meet. Greena Sharma of the Ghaziabad school won individual gold in air rifle for junior women, scoring 287 points out of a possible 400 and won a special prize of Rs 2,000. The school8217;s team of Greena Sharma, Noopur Chauhan and Ruchika Shekawat won gold in air rifle for junior women with scores of 287, 249 and 216, respectively.

Noopur Chauhan won gold scoring 310 out of 400 in air pistol event while the school8217;s team of Greena Sharma, Vijayata Yadav and Ruchika Shekawat finished second scoring 286, 246 and 180, respectively.

The two bronze medals were bagged by the junior boys8217; team in air rifle Naveen Kumar, Hasibul Hasan and Prabhat Chandra and the sub-junior girls team in air rifle Praggya Aggarwal, Neha Aggarwal and Kanika Gulshan.

Deep Memorial Public School also won the volleyball tournament in the CBSE cluster 3 East Zone, conducted in Rampur in the first week of October. In the final, the school beat Lord Mahavira Public School 15-4, 15-2, 15-12 in a well fought match. Mahavira school tried to come back in the second but lost steam subsequently.
