The Johnnie Walker F1 party on Sunday night ran high on fashion and to a full house
Fun, fast and furious. It can either be a Formula One race or an equally high-paced fashion show. Don8217;t agree? Well, then you clearly missed the Johnnie Walker Formula One party that saw the city raise a toast to fashion and fast action. Hosted at The Taj, the show brought in the rather good looking Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4/22 show car which hogged centrestage on the ramp. The evening also saw the unveiling of the much-awaited Johnnie Walker Formula One inspired fashion line put together by fashion guru Manish Arora.
The evening first saw the city8217;s select few that seemed to be quite many in number down some drinks and nibble on gossip and starters. The actual fashion show rolled out when the celebrity guest Mahima Chaudhary, who made the most of her trip to Chandigarh, walked in looking rather dishy in a black number. Once the clock touched ten, the lights dimmed and the guests got to see a show reel of Formula One and Johnnie Walker8217;s delectable range of Scotch. All the while the tempo of the music was a mix of Formula One 8211; very fast and edgy. The show reels done with, model and emcee Divya Jaitely stepped on stage and got the crowds animated with her trivia questions and some free gifts, all of which were duly lapped up. Then came in Diageo India8217;s managing director Asif Adil who raised a formal toast and finally got the show to begin. What began on stage was a visual psychedelic treat. Leading runway faces like Tina Chatwal, Laxmi Rana, Manasvi Mamgai, Joey Mathews, Nayonika Chatterjee, Indrani Das Gupta, Sonalika Sahay8230;sporting blonde and ash coloured wigs complete with full-bling makeup, wearing black spandex tights teamed up with equally shimmering tunics and Tees walked out. The clothes were anything but pret with the Johnnie Walker insignia all over them in gold. The highlight however was the music and the fast pace of the show that finally wrapped up with Mahima coming on stage to bid adieu.
All in all, a neat package.
