Full circle for Mushirul

Jamia Millia University Vice-Chancellor Mushirul Hasan has drawn flak from different quarters for offering legal aid to students arrested in connection with the Delhi serial blasts. The wheel has apparently turned a full circle for the liberal intellectual and noted historian who was under attack from the student community in the same university when he opposed the ban on Salman Rushdie8217;s Satanic Verses in the early 1990s. As for this case, Shastri Bhawan officials say Hasan took clearance of Union HRD Minister Arjun Singh before making the announcement.
