
Mumbai, Feb 9: FR Agnel Multipurpose School, Vashi, with 107 points, regained the supremacy after a gap of two years in the XIth Navi Mumbai Area Schools’ annual athletic meet, organised by St Augustine High School, Nerul, which concluded today. St Augustine finished runners-up with 97 points.
Individual champions Boys (U-16): Laxmi Narayan Pillai (St Xavier’s, Nerul) and Dhanwant Thakur (St Augustine) 23 pts each. (U-14): Sagar Patil (Sacred Heart, Vashi) 15 pts. (U-12): Brijesh Yadav (St Lawrence, Vashi) 10 pts. Girls (U-16): Harishca Pinto (Sacred Heart, Vashi) 11 pts. (U-14): Surelee Joseph (Sacred Heart) 16 pts. (U-12): Terrias Mathew (Fr Agnel) 13 pts.
Sheldon slams five
Five goals by Sheldon Fernandes were the highlight of St Andrew’s, Bandra, 9-0 triumph over Holy Family, Andheri, in the Boys Under-10 Inter-School hockey tournament, sponsored by Colgate, at the St Stanislaus, Bandra, today.
Nilesh Negi scored four in Don Bosco A’s, Matunga, 8-0 victory over Sacred Heart, Santa Cruz, inthe boys under-12 section.

Khalsa XI prevail
Plucky Khalsa XI downed HOC, Rasayani, 2-1 in the Punjab National Bank-sponsored BHA Second Division hockey league ontheir homeground at Matunga today. HOC were leading 1-0 at the interval through a field goal by A Mhatre in the 33rd minute. Khalsa coach-cum-player Saini Hardeep Singh scored the equaliser in the 60th minute, while Lawrence Noronha scored the winning goal through a penalty-corner conversion.
