Four High Court judges sworn-in

The Judges solemnly affirmed to quot;bear true faith and alliance to the Constitution of Indiaquot; and to quot;uphold the sovereignty and integrityquot; of the country. They also pledged to perform the duties of the office quot;without fear, favour, affection and ill-willquot;, and to the best of their quot;ability, knowledge and judgmentquot;.

With their assuming the office, the strength of High Court Judges has increased to 29 against the sanctioned strength of 40. Today8217;s ceremony, conducted by Registrar K.K. Garg, was attended by the sitting Judges, retired Chief Justices and Judges, along with Adviser to the Administrator Vineeta Rai and Haryana CS R.S. Varma.

A specialist in I-T matters, Justice Sud has been practising law since January 1966. Born in June 1944, he had passed LLB examination from Panjab University in 1965.

Designated as a senior advocate, Justice Narang was enrolled as an advocate in 1968 after passing LLB examinations from Panjab University in 1967. He had also taught in the Department of Laws here in 1975.

Practising law since 1972, Justice Gill also did his law from Punjab University. He was also non-official member of the Punjab Law Commission headed by late Justice B.S. Dhillon.

Justice Bakhshish Kaur was promoted as District and Sessions Judge in 1992 after joining PCS Judicial in April 1965.
