The cast of Geethu Mohandas’ action thriller Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups keeps getting bigger and better. After unveiling the first looks of four leading ladies in the film headlined by KFG star Yash, now the makers have released the first look of the fifth leading lady, Rukmini Vasanth, who’s riding on the unprecedented success of Rishab Shetty’s period epic fantasy Kantara: Chapter 1 since last year.
“Introducing Rukmini Vasanth @rukminitweets as MELLISA in – A Toxic Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups,” wrote Yash on his X handle, unveiling the actor’s character name and first look from the film. Rukmini can be seen in a glamorous avatar, wearing a dark green high-slit gown and sporting a no-nonsense expression as she walks inside a party.
“An absolute dream to be part of #Toxic. Grateful for this journey and the vision behind it (teary-eyed and folded hands emojis),” wrote Rukmini on X while sharing Yash’s post. “She doesn’t just perform, she processes. She asks questions not out of doubt, but out of curiosity. It pushed me to think deeper… she’s constantly building her own inner world. I find her approach incredibly thoughtful,” Geetu said about Rukmini in a statement.
Kiara Advani as Nadia
The first looks of all characters from Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups are being revealed, leading up to a grand reveal on Yash’s birthday this Thursday on January 8. The reveals began with that of Kiara Advani as Nadia last month. Advani shared the poster on her Instagram handle, which features her wearing an off-shoulder velvet gown while standing on a stage.
Nayanthara as Ganga
Up next was Nayanthara as Ganga. Her first look of her character holding a gun was set against the opulence of a grand casino entrance.
Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth
Later, Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth was unveiled, standing in a graveyard setting with old tombstones and stone figures in the background. Dressed in a black outfit, the actor is seen next to a vintage black car.
Tara Sutaria as Rebecca
And most recently, Tara Sutaria as Rebecca was introduced in an off-shoulder dress, holding a revolver.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grownups is directed by Geetu Mohandas, best known for Moothon (2019) and Liar’s Dice (2013), and produced by VN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. It’s slated to release in cinemas on March 19 on the occasion of Eid, Ugadi, and Gudi Padwa. It’ll clash with the sequel of Aditya Dhar’s blockbuster Bollywood period spy thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh.
