
The grandson of former home minister Rajendra Tripathi was rescued safely from Bihar on Thursday evening.
The kidnappers allegedly left him near a PCO and fled, reportedly due police survillance.
The kidnapped boy, Sashwat Tripathi, allegedly made a call to his father from a PCO. His father then informed senior officers and the police team camping in Bihar.
Senior Superintendent of Police Lalji Shukla, however, claimed the boy was rescued after an encounter with the kidnappers in Bhabhua, Bihar. The boy was safe and the team would reach Allahabad by Friday, he added.
Earlier, Shukla was not ready to accept the case as that of kidnapping.
Sashwat, a student of Class X in Saraswati Shishu Mandir, had gone to meet his friends on Tuesday at 7.30 pm, when he was allegedly kidnapped by some miscreants. His friends were also allegedly involved in his kidnapping.
The kidnappers had also demanded Rs 25 lakh from the family.
Sashwat8217;s family members are still tightlipped about the incident and refused to speak to mediapersons.
Sashwat8217;s father Ashok Tripathi said: 8220;I just want to forget the incident as a bad dream now that my son has returned safely.8221;
