The Lucknow University LU administration on Sunday issued a final warning to hostel inmates and announced that it would start forceful eviction from Monday morning. On Sunday, Divisional Commissioner Rakesh Mittal inspected the university8217;s hostels along with police officials to take stock of the situation. Members of LU proctorial board, too, were seen making rounds of the hostels.

Security was beefed up on the campus after the official inspection. 8220;We would flush out hostel inmates with help from police and the district administration,8221; Proctor Dr A N Singh said. 8220;Following the High Court8217;s directive, we are now armed with adequate security personnel, something we had earlier sought from the district administration.8217;8217;

Meanwhile, a few students, mostly those backed by political outfits, are still hiding in some of the hostel rooms, LU officials said.
