
As international support continues to pour in favour of the movement, an increasingly cornered and isolated King Gyanendra flew in his Super Puma along with Queen Komal to inaugurate the World Hindu Federation silver jubilee celebration in Birgunj.
He was greeted as the all-powerful Hindu King by Sadhus, who are mainly associated with the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. They believed a Hindu king was the way Nepal should be destined to live with.
8216;8216;I was wary of the fact about 14 years ago when democracy was adopted in Nepal that it does not augur well for the world8217;s only Hindu Kingdom,8217;8217; said the Jagadguru Shankaracharya.
The King made no political speech on the occasion, but appealed to all to devote time for peace out of their busy schedule.
The World Hindu Federation, completing its 25 years of existence, had felicitated the King last year as the 8220;Vishwa Hindu Samrat8221; and endorsed his political move. The celebration in Birgunj was a state sponsored event.
