A historic Sikh drama travels from the UK to Chandigarh

The idea is to spread the Guru8217;s word and create awareness about Sikh religion and philosophy among people, especially youngsters back in the UK. And the occasion is the 300 years of the Guru Granth Sahib. Written and directed by TP Sindra of the Punjabi Theatre Academy, UK, the play, Guru Manyo Granth, is based on the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib and has been very well-received by audiences in the UK. Now the play will be staged in Chandigarh and according to Gaurav Sharma, who8217;s worked with Sindra on several projects, and is designing the play to suit Indian audiences, actors from both UK and the the city will be part of the production, which is in Hindi and

English. 8220;Dance, martial arts, live and recorded folk and classical music, the play has a lot of colour and will create cultural awareness too,8217;8217; adds Gaurav.

Guru Manyo Granth will be staged on January 19 at Tagore Theatre .

More than 100 youngsters 18 to 30 years of the Tricity are participating in YES! Youth Empowerment Skills, a workshop being held at St Kabir School. The youngsters are being taught concentration and confidence-building techniques and the activities involved in the workshop help destress and hone leadership qualities. The instructor for the workshop Ramnik Bansal, an IIT, IIM alumni is also an international Art of Living instructor and has been travelling across the globe taking these courses to top institutes.
