CHANDIGARH, March 11: The Food and Craft institute today celebrated its annual day as part of its ongoing silver jubilee festivities week. The principal of home science college, Usha Dhaval gave away prizes to the winners of various contests. The principal of the Institute, Alok Shivpuri presented a report on activities at the institution during the past year.
A scintillating bhangra performance by the students followed a cultural programme by a Punjabi singer Hubby Dhariwal on the occasion.
The students honoured at the annual day included : Ravinder Kumar front office, Siba Shankar house keeping, Kajal Gupta bakery and confectionery, Tapan Reang food and beverages services and Nitika Popli cookery.
Prizes were given to Kiranjot for being the most regular student, Sunil Gautam for sportsman of the year, Sukhdeep for sportswoman of the year, Shivan for most dedicated student, Deepti Dhawan for lady of the year and Rajesh Chauhan for gentleman of the year. Manjinder Saini was honoured for being all-round best student.
A seminar on Entrepreneurship8221; was also organised for the students with the help of local hoteliers on the fourth day of the festivities week today.
