The Iranian top brass, which was in India late last month, might have had far important things to discuss with the Indian authorities but it did not forget to raise other lesser but well-meaning issues. In his meetings with the top political authorities, Iranian Vice-President Esfandiar Rahim Mashaee is learnt to have taken up the matter of an Iranian shipment of tiles meant for the Aligarh Muslim University being stuck with the customs department. Iran had sent these tiles as its contribution to the renovation of the university in a goodwill gesture. The Iranian vice-president was assured that the customs seizure would be taken up with the Finance Ministry.
