The Bihar police on Saturday filed a case against NDA convener and JDU leader George Fernandes for an alleged attempt to bribe voters in his constituency. SP Amit Lodha said a case was filed under Sec 171B of IPC against Fernandes and some of his party workers following a complaint that they paid money to Sunita 40, who is said to have attempted suicide on Thursday.
A TV channel showed Fernandes giving Rs 500 to a man standing beside Sunita in a hospital here. Lodha said the money has been seized. Denying the allegation, Fernandes said: 8216;8216;No money has gone from my hands nor did I have any money.8217;8217; 8212; PTI
