
Mumbai, Dec 1: Favourites Fatima Sports Club and Ghatkopar YMCA scored facile wins to enter the final of the junior girls and boys final respectively of the XIth Bombay YMCA open basketball tournament at Ghatkopar YMCA today.
Fatima, on the resurgence after junior international Anita Krishnan joined their ranks this year, drubbed a second-string Agradneya Vyayamshala side 50-12. Anita led the scoring with 22 points, while Sushma Holmagi contributed 12.
For Ghatkopar, the three nationals in their side — Ralph Gomes, Ashish Lad and Sachin More — combined well to decimate the Central YMCA defence. Within six minutes, they had set up an 18-point lead, such was their dominance.
Later, Income-Tax entered the men’s semi-final by taming Indian Gymkhana 72-42.
