This father and son like doing things together. If the two of them won the Assembly elections in 1997 and lost in 2002, this time, they have won together again. Chaudhary Swarana Ram, 65, won as the BJP candidate from Phagwara constituency while his son Mohan Lal, 38, won as the SAD candidate from Banga. Swarana Ram sees his son ahead of him. He says that before 1997 he had fought many elections but could win only in 1997 while his son won in his very first attempt.
