Eye bank opens at Command Hospital

CHANDIMANDIR, Nov 2: Western Command Medical Services Director Maj Gen R.P. Arora inaugurated an eye bank and keratoplasty centre at Command Hospital here on Monday. Maj Gen Arora described the opening of the new facilities as quot;a red-letter day in Command Hospital historyquot;. The eye bank and keratoplasty centre fulfills a long-felt need, said Hospital Commandant Maj Gen Virendra Singh, adding that the facility would be available round-the-clock. Dr J.S. Saini and Lt Col Kunjithai spoke on the eye-donation movement and restoration of sight through corneal transplant.
