Everlasting friendship

I met Vimal Bhosale, when we had just shifted to our new residence. I did not know a single soul in the neighbourhood. She and me developed an instant liking for each other. Our wavelengths matched perfectly we discovered as time passed.

There are so many times she has helped me with my problems that the count has been lost. First of all, I could employ a maid servant for washing clothes and utensils due to her sweet and diplomatic talk. The same maid worked for us for almost three years, leaving recently only for a very genuine reason.

Whenever I am in need of any kitchen ingredients, she is always ready to give even if they are very expensive, for example, when onions had recently touched skyrocketing prices, she gladly gave me a quarter kilo on non-returnable basis. Being an expert on cooking she would spare some time and guide me with the same, whenever I faced any problem or even now if anything goes wrong with a recipe she8217;s my saviour.

A very fine personality, fair skin, glowing complexion and a very good height add to her sincerity. A jovial nature and witty answers to any problem are her other qualities. She is very fond of wearing gold jewellery and lovely silk saris. But mind you, she looks gorgeous no matter what she wears. Her taste in all accessories is worth appreciating.

Vimal, a mother of one growing kid, has a lovely habit of sharing her things with everyone. Whenever any gold or new sari is purchased, she unfailingly offers the same and sometimes even persuades me to wear it first. Now when the world has become such distrustful place to live in, hers is one soul with a big heart trusting others with her gold! Moreover there is never an iota of hesitation in even rendering monetary assistance to others.

Whenever I needed anything from the market or wanted to go shopping or even find a good tailor, she would readily accompany me, treating me with some food stuff or snacks and never even let me spend money. God has blessed her with a number of skills, including tailoring as well as making a person glow and look beautiful with just a bit of light make up. Frankly, now I don8217;t trust any other beautician to do my eyebrows, my dear friend does it so perfectly!

I vividly remember my pregnancy days! My friend played the perfect role of an elder sister, guiding me with what to eat, what to do, providing the much needed support. A pair of warm woollen socks were given to me by her to keep my feet warm. When my baby boy was delivered, Vimal was one of the first few visitors, bringing a beautiful white sweater for the baby. After the delivery, when I went to my mother8217;s place for rest, she would visit me frequently.

When I started working after a gap of almost six months, it was virtually impossible to cook, work and look after such a small baby. At that hour of crisis, Vimal found a lady within a week who takes care of cooking food for hubby in my absence.

She helped me with an iron when ours broke down. She also took extreme pains to find alternate residence when we were looking for one. Furthermore she sincerely tried finding a suitable job when I needed one. Vimal even succeeded in finding one for me, but I refused to take up, since by that time I landed with a better job.

When my brother-in-law8217;s birthday was due, I casually mentioned that I require to present him with a good perfume and whether she could help me find a good one. And lo! the next day Vimal bought an enchanting perfume, her gesture was worth appreciating.

While on the subject of birthdays, when my baby8217;s first birthday was due, she helped me a lot with decorations, preparing plates and serving cold drinks to a number of guests. It was indeed a great help to have her around during the party.

Last, but not the least, whenever there is a fight between hubby and me and I become upset, I go to speak to her. Just venting out my feelings to her makes me feel better. She always assures me that everything will be all right, telling me to have patience, as one day the tide would definitely turn in my direction. I really don8217;t know what I would have done without her. May the Almighty see to it that our friendship lasts forever and there are more people around like Vimal with a heart of gold, making the world a much better place to live in.
