The drawn lineThe Morarka Centre for Research and Revival of Crafts of the NCPA has organised a screening of the film Kahankar-Ahankar. Directed by Anjali Monterio and K P Jayasankar - the husband and wife team also teach at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences - it presents the history of the Warli tribe through a selection of their stories and paintings. Also knitted together is a focus on how the outside world's ideas of progress - imposed on the Warlis - have been incorporated in their mythology. A discussion will be held with the directors after the screening. Time: 6.30 pm.Hues of BengalManas Bhattacharjee, an artist from West Bengal, will display his paintings and drawings in Mumbai for the first time. Painting since 1983, Manas did adiploma in Fine Arts from the Indian College of Arts and Crafts, Calcutta. He has a few group shows and two one-man shows to his credit. Produced by the Lalit Kala Kendra (Pune), the play will be performed by a troupe from Pune.
