LONDON, June 19: South Africa had England reeling at stumps on the second day of the second cricket Test at Lord8217;s today. Speedsters Shaun Pollock two wickets and Allan Donald had the home side tottering at 40 for three in reply to South Africa8217;s healthy 360 all out in the first innings.

The see-sawing Test had earlier swung back in England8217;s favour with the second new ball today but not before Jonty Rhodes scored a brilliant century. Rhodes ended a five-year wait for a Test century with a well-timed 117 on the second day of the second Test.

His second Test century and a record-fifth wicket stand with skipper Hansie Cronje rescued the Proteas8217; innings from a precarious 46 for four to a more commanding 302 for seven by tea on the second day. Mark Boucher and Lance Klusener survived 20 minutes to remain unbeaten on 10 and 15, respectively.

Medium-pacer Dominic Cork removed Shaun Pollock to claim his second five-wicket haul in as many matches, as South Africa slumped from 230 for four to 283 forseven.

It was a frustrating morning session for England, who had to wait until after lunch to dislodge the defiant fifth-wicket alliance between Cronje and Rhodes.

Mark Ealham, who came into the attack for the first time after lunch, forced Cronje to hit a catch to Mark Ramprakash at cover.
