
PUNE, August 14: Illegal constructions in the front margins of a hotel, a bank a travel company and a shop were razed by the Pune Municipal Corporation in Koregaon Park today.
According to civic squad chief Gautam Waghchaure, over 1,000 square feet of area was cleared of encroachments during the day-long drive. The civic squad, comprising 80 employees, first struck at Hotel Zumus and pulled down the extended front margin structure admeasuring 450 square feet, besides a 150 square feet bamboo shed structure in the side margin.
The squad demolished tin shed structures in the front margin of the Pune Cantonment Bank, Vijayanta Travels and D.P. Supermarket, each admeasuring 150 square feet.
