CHANDIGARH, March 10: The Economic offences wing of the city police have arrested an employee of a New Delhi-based advertising company after the employee allegedly cheated the company of nearly Rs 3 lakh rupees.

SAS Nagar resident Satwinder Pal Singh was held for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating under Section 408 and 420 of the Indian penal code. The police had registered a case in September last year. Police sources said that the managing director of the company, Amitabh Gupta, had reported that Satwinder was employed in their local branch and was entrusted the task of collecting payments from the clients. Satwinder, however, did not deposit about Rs 2.87 lakhs with the company.
