
NEW DELHI, JUNE 17: As many as eight Indian golfers will form part of the 42-player Davidoff Asian PGA Tour contingent for the British Open final qualifying rounds on 11th and 12th July.
According to inforamtion reaching here from Hong Kong, the players are: Jyoti Randhawa, Firoz Ali, Arjun Atwal, Vivek Bhandari, Arjun Singh, Amandeep Johl, Amritinder Singh and Jeev Milkha Singh. The Indian contingent will be the strongest amongst all the Asian countries.
Singapore8217;s Mardan Mamat and India8217;s Gaurav Ghei qualified for Royal Troon in 1997 and Choi Kyung-Ju of Korea and Australia8217;s Grant Dodd made it through to Royal Birkdale last year. This year, Choi won a direct entry by winning the Kirin Open where he defeated Jeev Milkha Singh in a playoff. Jeev and American Gerry Norquist, both currently playing on the European PGA Tour, will join the Asian invasion if they do not qualify directly through their order of merit positions.
