Effluent treatment plant opened

NAGPUR, June 24: An Effluent Treatment Plant ETP, the first of its kind in Maharashtra State Electricity Board8217;s MSEB power stations, was formally inaugurated on Monday at Khaparkheda Thermal Power Plant by PK Kukde, technical director, MSEB.

Speaking on the occasion, Kukde said the installation of an ETP at Khaparkheda will help the MSEB to establish ETP8217;s in other thermal power stations. The setting up of ETP8217;s is part of a pollution control programme undertaken by MSEB.

The first such scheme is being commissioned at Unit-VI of Koradi Thermal Power Station. This will help the MSEB to reach the concept of zero pollutants discharge and smokeless chimneys.
