
PUNE, Aug 5: Ecoboard Industries Limited has commenced production at its Velapur plant in Solapur district estimated at Rs. 55 crore. The plant has a production capacity of 36 lakh square metres per annum of particle boards consisting of 28.80 square lakh metres of interior grade and 7.20 lakh square metres of exterior grade of particle boards.
The Velapur plant of Ecoboard has been set up to enable the company to achieve its ambitious growth target of Rs. 100 crore by the year 2003. The formation of the new entity Ecoboard Industries Ltd is the outcome of the merger between Western Bio Systems Ltd and Deccan Fibre Boards Ltd with an equity base of Rs. 12.482 crore.
Ecoboard expects to be able to market all its production from the new plant in addition to production at its first plant manufacturing 100 per cent wood free particle board at Jambhulwadi.
