
TASHKENT, JULY 14: Former Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek and Sjeng Schalken gave The Netherlands a commanding 2-0 lead over Uzbekistan after the first day of their Davis Cup World Group qualifier here on Friday.
Despite the win, Schalken said he was not satisfied with his form, blaming lack of concentration for making too many mistakes.
Earlier, Krajicek got the Dutch off to a winning start with a straight sets win over Oleg Ogorodov.
Krajicek, the Dutch Number One, defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in a two-hour long game.
Ogorodov began the match with an early break to take a 3-1 lead in the opening set, but Krajicek soon levelled at 3-3 before making a deciding break in the ninth game to win the first set in 42 minutes.
In the second set Krajicek took a 4-1 lead also after a couple of early breaks and served out to win the set 6-3 in 35 minutes.
The third set saw an exchange of breaks at the start, but Krajicek was still well in command making far fewer unforced errors which allowed him to take the set 6-4.
Krajicek said he was pleased with the win but complained that the weather had been too hot and that the court had been in poor condition.

Ogorodov and Dmitry Tomashevich will face visitors8217; Duoschalken and Paul Haarhuis in the doubles match on Saturday.
The winner of the rubber qualifies for the elite top 16 for next year.
