The Madhya Pradesh Assembly witnessed dramatic scenes on Tuesday when Opposition MLAs led by the Congress carried toy dumpers to the House, demanding resignation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The Opposition has accused Chouhan of indulging in corruption by renting out four dumpers to an industrial group in Rewa in lieu of favours. The dumpers were bought in the name of Chouhan8217;s wife Sadhna Singh and have since been with the same group.

Raising slogans, the Opposition MLAs rushed to the well of the House and waived plastic dumpers. They refused to budge even when Speaker Ishwardas Rohani admitted the adjournment motion on the dumper issue.

Earlier, the Opposition disrupted the Question Hour forcing the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings twice.

On the first day of the Assembly session on Monday, the Opposition MLAs had come to the Vidhan Sabha on a dumper. Late on Monday, the Opposition parties met and announced that they would not allow the House to function till Chouhan quit the Chief Minister8217;s post. They contended that while the Chief Minister was in office an impartial probe into the dumper issue was not possible.

In its quest for Chouhan8217;s resignation the Opposition is even ready to sacrifice the No-Confidence Motion it was planning to move against the BJP Government. 8220;They are running away from moving the motion and the debate. They simply want to stall the proceedings of the House,8221; Chouhan said. 8220;If they have facts they should table them in the House.8221;
