VADODARA, June 22: The officials of the District Supply Office detected irregularities following their recent inspection of four fair price shops and suspended the licence of one of them permanently and others temporarily.

An official spokesman said on Tuesday that licence of the one Babubhai Purohit of the Patarveli village in the Vadodara taluka was suspended permanently as he neither had any proper documents nor was he maintaining entries in the ration cards regularly.

Likewise, licence of Kishore Marwari of New Sama area was suspended for one month, licence of Jayram Gokul Das of Padra for three months and the licence of Devilal Marwari of the Bhensasut area for two months. According to the spokesman, none of these fair price shop-owners were keeping proper records of the stocks and sale of items like wheat, rice, sugar and kerosene.
