MUMBAI, June 1: EDGAR D’Sa slammed a hat-trick to spur Vikhroli Sports Club to a 3-1 victory over MLBW (Andheri) in the MDFA Maitra Cup football tournament at the St Xavier’s Ground, Parel, today.

D’Sa’s scoring feat enabled Vikhroli overturn a deficit after Sheldon Nunes gave MLWB the lead as early as the ninth minute.

Nunes found the net from top of the area but MLWB did not stay ahead for long.

After 22 minutes D’Sa struck a splendid goal to restore parity to take MLWB into the second half on level terms.

With only seven minutes having ticked by after the change of ends, D’Sa displayed some spectacular individual brilliance.

He capped a dribble from the centre with a goal to put Vikhroli ahead before scoring the match-winner in the 24th minute of the session.A header that gave the MLWB goalkeeper no chance ended an eventful day.
