
Superintending Engineer, Irrigation and Public Health IPH Department, Nahan Circle, A.K. Walia said in a statement here today that the Rs 90-lakh lift drinking water supply scheme for Patlion village under Paonta sub-division is under progress.
He said the work of digging a tubewell is under progress, which would be completed very shortly. He said a population of over 2,500 in the rural area would get regular water supply of 70 litres per person per day after completion of the scheme. He said the residents of the area were demanding regular water supply for the past many years, which would be fulfilled very shortly. Walia said a big water tank to store water at a greater height would be constructed to provide water connections to every resident of the area. Pradhan of Patlion panchayat Datta Ram said the department had to change the half-inch pipe line to two inches so that connections could be provided from this new line.
