Showing his displeasure at the statement of the Congress leader, Advani said, 8220;It seems something has radically gone wrong with people in authority to make such outrageous statements8221;.

Dixit8217;s statement was reportedly made in the light of the gruesome murder of Saumya Vishwanathan, a producer with a news channel, while she was going home at 3:30 am on September 29.

Her statement has been criticised in several quarters as irresponsible 8211; especially as it comes from a woman 8211; and as an attempt to shirk responsibility of providing security to the people of Delhi.
