MUMBAI, JANUARY 4: Around 60-70 workers of the BJP women8217;s wing staged at dharna at Mantralaya to protest against the rising prices of essential commodities. The workers who were led by MLA Chandrakant Goyal and BJP women8217;s wing president Parul Mehta staged a rasta roko in front of Mantralaya and protested for nearly an hour.

They were later taken away in two police vans by the Cuffe Parade police and were detained and later released on bail. The activists raised anti-government and anti-Food and Civil Supplies Minister Datta Meghe slogans. The minister called the members of the BJP women8217;s wing for discussions but they refused to meet him.

ST ON MILK: The State Government had announced a four per cent sales tax on milk. The tax will be applicable on one litre milk packets. The milk prices are for cows milk Rs 11 per litre, Aarey Special Rs 15 per litre, Aarey ordinary Rs 9 per litre plus four per cent sales tax.
