PANCHKULA, Sept 3: Dharminder Lilly, one of India8217;s top ranked cueists showed his class to beat Sameer Bhalla 67-35, 57-29, 74-32, and entered the semifinal stage of the professional snooker event in the SK Bajaj Memorial snooker tournament at the Cute Q8217;s Billiards and Snooker Pool Centre in Sector 6, here today.

In another match Sandeep Duggal beat Robin 60-17, 59-26, 65-22. Deepak Goel who is top ranked Haryana player also entered the next round match by defeating Amit Swamy 61-18, 15-40, 31-56, 62-38, 64-11.

Sunny Bhalla bt Rajan Seghal 57-49, 42-56, 50-40, 73-16 and Anil Sharma outplayed Honey Bhalla 26-55, 53-43, 51-52, 56-41.

In the amateur section, Rajesh Jain beat Sunil Kanwar 57-64, 71-41, 75-21 while Tarun Malik defeated Saurabh Malhotra 84-38, 64-61. Vipul scored 54-30, 56-12 win over Deepak Sharma. Bharat Mann beat Vipul 54-31, 63-40.

St Soldier8217;s, SPS win
St Soldier8217;s School beat Government High School-37, 3-2 via tie-break and Shivalik Public School scored a solitary goal win over Government Model High School-38, in the under-14 football tournament at the Government Model School in Sector 23, today.

In the match between St Soldier8217;s School and GHS-37, the teams played a goalless draw in the regulation period. To break the deadlock between the teams, tie-break rule was applied.

In the tie-break, Sanjay, Mandeep and Vikram netted for St Soldier8217;s School while Pardeep and Rajinder scored for GHS-37.

In another match, Shivalik School lads dominated the contest and beat GMHS-38 by one goal to nil. The match winner was scored by Gagandeep in the opening third minute of play.

The final match will be played on September 7 at 4.30 p.m., at the Govt Model School in Sector 23.

Anil excels
Anil Sharma outclassed Honey Bhalla 44-35, 61-28, 67-22, to book a berth in the semifinal of the open snooker event in the YMCA Open Billiards and Snooker tournament at the YMCA Hall in Sector 11. In handicap snooker event, Ajay Chandel beat Gurvinder 46-50, 40-32, 69-24, to enter the semifinal.

In open billiards, Sameer Bhalla defeated AD Singh 309-294. Gaurav Setia also scored 342-245 win over Sanjay Kaushal.
