Denied food after 11 pm, man roughs up waiter

The incident took place around 11.15 pm at Moti Mahal restaurant on Malcha Marg when Navneet Kumar, 28, came to the restaurant with his girlfriend and asked the waiters to serve them food.

When he was told that no food was served after 11 pm, he told the waiters that he was a regular customer and should be served food, said a police officer. As the waiters refused to oblige, he hit one of them.

The restaurant manager then called the police and Navneet was taken to the police station. On the complaint of the restaurant owner, he was booked but got a bail later.

8220;Navneet is a divorcee and unemployed too,8221; said an officer, adding that his medical examination did not prove he was drunk.
