Ideologically poles apart, BJP leader L K Advani and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad were on Thursday seen on the same side, cheering the Delhi Daredevils team at the Ferozeshah Kotla Ground in New Delhi.

The two cricket buffs provided some heavyweight VIP backing for the home team as they took on the Chennai Superkings at an Indian Premier League match.

Advani and Prasad, on opposite sides in Parliament, shared space in the VIP box in the stadium as they cheered the hosts who lost despite amassing 187 runs.

Prasad was at the stadium with his family, including his son Tejaswi Yadav, who is an upcoming cricketer and a member of the Delhi Daredevils team.

The RJD chief, who is President of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), has, in fact, been a regular fixture at all Daredevils’ matches at the Kotla.

The VIP box was abuzz with activity as security officials and members of the GMR Group, which is the owner of the Daredevils team, kept up a regular attendance there due to the presence of the two leaders.
